On 28 February the Cabarlah Golf Course could have thought they won the lottery when the Progressive Community Crows Nest Board (Heritage Bank Highfields and Crows Nest Community Branches) approved a grant for $20,000 towards the purchase of a new “Fairway Rough” mower.  The new Kubota F3690 will provide for the well maintained and appealing 18 hole golf course sporting a Golf Pro, Golf Carts and is open to the public for social play.

Heritage Highfields Community Branch is a joint venture between Heritage and the local community represented by the Progressive Community Crows Nest (PCCN).

Under the Heritage community branch model, PCCN’s share of profits is distributed back to into the community as grants to local organisations, charities and special community events.

Heritage Highfields Community Branch Manager Aaron Jones said,” We’re absolutely thrilled to present Borneo Barracks Golf Club in Cabarlah with a $20,000 community grant to purchase a new ride on mower.  This will make a huge difference in helping the Superintendent and dedicated volunteers with the daily maintenance of the course.

The beauty about being a community branch is that the more people bank with us, the more we can give back through our community grants program, sponsorships and more.

People can see real examples of local initiatives they’ve helped support just by doing their everyday banking with Heritage. It’s a great example of locals supporting local.”
